Asked by
I am currently living with my parents and elder brother in a HDB flat. My parents are the main owner. My elder brother and me are the co-owner and we are also servicing the housing loans.
Our flat is bought with no grant and the loan is from a bank.

My brother just turn 35, single, and we are looking to purchase another HDB flat. I am capable or servicing the loan myself and repay the portion my bro have paid into our current place.

Questions:
1) Do we need to wait another 3 years to rent out our current flat if my borther withdraw his name?

2) Can my brother apply for left over flat?

Thanks

Regards,
CK.

Evening CK,

After the transfer of ownership, the existing owner need to stay for another 5 years to fulfill the MOP period.

SBF is housing selection program for married couples. There's no ruling that enable singles to purchase HDB unit directly.
