Good evening,

yes you have to pay cash for stamp duty for resale property purchase first before you can apply for reimbursement back in cash if you have excess CPF OA funds.

It might take up to 1 month from completion date.

Are you referring to resale private property purchase? If yes, yes for BSD you need to pay cash first and get reimbursement (if cpf oa is sufficient) later. It can be 1 or 2 weeks from completion date for the reimbursement.

If you are purchasing a resale HDB, then you can arrange for BSD to be paid in CPF instead of having to pay in cash first before reimbursement. Otherwise, for private properties, you will probably take approximately a month after completion before you get the reimbursement back. Read More

Hi Sir/Mdm,

Are you referring to a purchase of a resale condo? Yes you will need to pay in cash for the stamp duty first because there is insufficient time for the lawyer to draw out the CPF to meet the stamp duty payment timeline. The reimbursement will take about 3 to 4 weeks after the completion.
