Hi, usually you can opt to sell within 6months from key collection if you are not in need of the money from the sale of your grandparent HDB for payment of your unit. It is also perhaps good to consider selling now instead of waiting, which might be a better price due to longer lease life left.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

If you need the funds from the sale to purchase your BTO then you can chose to sell the flat before the keys collection.

If not you can choose to stay in the inherited flat until the new flat is ready so that you have a place to stay before your new place is ready.

Your situation is a bit unique, and you may wish to consult HDB on this. If you are in the process of inheriting the HDB, it may affect the BTO application as the system will indicate that you are in the process of 2 different applications. It is best to call in to HDB hotline and write in HDB feedback form to confirm.
