I am an owner of a 3rm HDB flat registered on 1 Apil 2006. I need advise on the following matter:

1. When can I start selling my flat?
2. When should I start advertising for a buyer?
3. When should I start looking for my new flat? I am looking at getting a jumbo flat.
4. With my new HDB flat, will I be able to buy a private property for investment. If so, how much loan can I take from the bank.

If it is non subsidised. You can sell ow.
If it is subsidised, you can only sell after April 2011

Dear Sir

If you have not received any grant or if the unit is not bought direct from the HDB, you can sell at any time. Otherwise you will have to fill the Minimum Occupation Period of 5 years.

Once these requirements have been met, you will then be able to start marketing your unit for sale.

Re: your new jumbo flat. Start looking only when your present unit is eligible for sale. You should also check your financial position with the banks, etc.

If you buy a second HDB unit, you are not able to buy a second property until you have fulfilled the minimum occupation period of 5 years. Once again, it is better to check with the bank with regards to your financial position.

    Yes, I took a 30k grant when I bought my HDB. Does this mean that I can only start advertising for the sale of my flat after 1 April 2011.

    You mentioned that I have to fulfill the 5 years MOP. Is this applicable to resale flats as well?
