I am about to take possession of a BTO flat in June 2014. However, I live and work overseas with my wife (no kids). I do not own any overseas property in line with HDB rulings. However, we would not meet the MOP unless we came home and physically stayed in the flat. Would the HDB accept an appeal to sublet the whole flat without meeting MOP? I intend to return to Singapore for good after 5 years. In the meantime, its fine that the MOP doesn't 'countdown' but at least I have derive some rental income to pay off the HDB loan in the years that I am away. Do kindly advise?
