I am a Singaporean citizen who live overseas most of the last twenty years so no significant income or cpf in Singapore. Over 35 but married.

We want to buy a property in Singapore - hdb or condo - with a view to return to Singapore at a later time. What laws am I subjected to, and how shall I obtain the financing required to purchase?

Hi,

With respect to overseas income, it is better if you speak to a few banks to see how much financing they are willing to support. As a local SC, the same housing eligibility rules apply, as if you were working in Singapore. It is just the loan financing aspect that needs to be cleared up. Good morning buyer,

If this will be your first purchase (matrimonial house), you will not be subject to additional buyer's stamp duty.

As for mortgage, do let my banker/s advise you on your in principle approval first so you will have a gauge how much loan can you obtain. Be it for HDB or condo purchase.

If you are keen to purchase a HDB, you need to meet the eligibility first. Combined income ceiling is $12k.
