I am a Singapore Citizen married to PR. I understand to purchase BTO/resale I have to form a family nucleus with my spouse and children. May I know if I am still eligible to purchase a flat under the Public Scheme if I am married without children?

Also, since my wife is PR, will I be getting the full CPF grant if I am going for BTO flats? Because I understand that for resale flats, the CPF grant is reduced by 10k if one is married to SPR.

Hi,

Yes if you are married without children, it will be under the Public Scheme. For BTO flats, its already considered subsidized housing, hence unless you earn 5k & below (to qualify for AHG) or 8.5k & below (to qualify for SHG, non-mature estates) as a household per month, there are no other grants to apply for.

For resale flats, you have access to 1st timer grant of 20k, PHG, AHG depending on your income circumstances. It must definitely be 12k & below to qualify for 1st timer grant and hdb loan. Thanks and hope to assist with your housing plans further.

Good evening buyer,

Not to worry. Let me assist you further.

In fact for public scheme, both of your names will do. Dont have to add any children names.

For BTO, there is no CPF housing grant meant for resale HDB purchase as it has been subsidised. Unless your income is not high, you might be eligible for additional housing grant etc.

As for resale HDB purchase, you will be entitled to $20k (SC +SPR), proximity housing grant (if stay near parents) etc.

You may buy under the public scheme.

Resale flat can apply for CPF grant for 1st timer with an income of less than $12K.

Can apply for top up once the SPR becomes an SC.
