I am a SC with 2 SC kids. My hubby is foreigner on EP. Our combined income exceeds $12K and hence cannot buy BTO. We can only buy resale. We recently heard that a friend of a friend who is also in a similar case, received a $30K resale housing grant from HDB becaue she argued that her hubby is foreigner, cannot apply for a mortgage to help with the HDB loan payment, and hence his salary should not be factored into the consideration of a housing grant. Anyone else have heard of something like this
