I am a PR applying for singapore ciziten (10year PR) , my wife is a PR only one year plus under my sponsorship. Are we able to buy a new flat after i became Citizen? Do i have to wait until my wife PR status change to 3 years before i can purchase one New HDB or resales flat? Or are we able to buy under both of us as PR status.

Good afternoon Patrick,

Great hearing from you.

Yes you are eligible to apply for BTO or purchase resale flat if you turns SC without the need of your wife fulfilling SPR status of 3 years.

But as of now, you will have to wait till your wife fulfil SPR status of 3 years before you can purchase a resale flat. If not, your alternative will be to purchase a private property.

Hi,

Once you have converted to SC, you can purchase BTO or resale HDB immediately.

If you remain as PR-PR, both PRs must be PRs for at least 3 years before they can apply for resale flat. They cannot apply for BTO.
