Hi,

According to HDB rules, you will have to undertake to sell off all overseas residential properties latest within 6 months upon the purchase of the HDB flat.

There may be exception cases, but it will be subjected to approval by HDB on a case-by-case basis.

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Jong Chyi Yam, yes you will need to dispose off your property in Malaysia or have it transferred to another person in your case.

Good evening,

You can choose to remove your ownership of the unit by selling it to your family member. This can be done within 6 months from key collection on your HDB.

Do feel free to contact me for further discussion.

Hi Chyi Yam,

Yes, you have to give up your foreign property to purchase a resale HDB here.
As HDB flat was meant for people who needs it, meaning 'not rich' to invest at the beginning. Thus do not allow having other property to prevent people from abusing the subsidized accomodation.

You can still buy a resale HDB, but must dispose off local/foreign property within 6 months upon key collection.

However, as a SC you can reinstate your name in your foreign property upon MOP.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more queries, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
