Asked by
I am a home seeker. Planning to take a HDB unit on rent. I came across a HDB unit. It has 5 rooms. The owner has raised wall and separated the single 5 room unit to 2 separate units. The 2 units are for rent as "room rental".
The owner does not stay in the unit. He stays in a different HDB.

I read on the government website that the HDB owner must stay in the unit (throughout the room-rental time) if it is for room rental and not for whole unit rent.

Is anything wrong here? Please advise. Thanks!
