I am a foreigner who will soon move to Singapore under an Employment Pass. May I rent an HDB flat on the open market? The HDB website appears to say that this is only for divorced persons or owners of other HDB apartments who have rented out their apartments to other persons. Is this correct, or do those criteria apply only to persons renting directly from HDB? Hi,

These are 2 different types of rental. The one that you read is rental from HDB while what you should be looking for is rental from open market.
