I am a current owner of a freehold condominium. Would I be able to transfer ownership of my condo to my other family members (who do not own any property in SG) in order to be eligible to purchase a resale flat? Or must I sell the condo to my family member?

Good morning,

As a private property owner, you will be eligible to purchase a resale HDB. Just that you will have to dispose off your private property within 6 months from completion date.

From the scenarios, you might want to hold on to current property.

You can dispose off your interest via gift or transfer of ownership.

You might want to speak to my law firm to have a better idea of how to do so.

If you need any contact, feel free to contact me. Cheers!

Afternoon,

As long as you are no longer the legal owner of the private property, you will be eligible to purchase resale HDB unit with bank loan.

Do contact me further should you require more details.
