I am a Citizen while my other half is a SPR. We are planning to purchase resale hdb but he owns property in Malaysia. (It was pass down by his ancestors) Hence, we are wondering if it will be possible to purchase resale HDB in Singapore and not sell the property in Malaysia?

You will need to appeal to HDB then with valid reasons and see if they can grant you the approval to purchase. Read More

Hi,

I would be most glad to assist you further and please feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. Have a good day ahead. By the way, both of you are not eligible to do any purchase for now and would have to appeal to the HDB.

The rules states that you're not eligible to purchase a resale HDB flat. However, you may wish to submit an appeal if you have genuine reasons to keep the Malaysia property.
