Unfortunately, no. Your husband is not a Singaporean or SPR, hence he cannot be the owner of the HDB flat. And if he's not the owner, the loan cannot be under his name, and his income will not be taken into account for any loan.

However, if you could afford a private property, his name and income could be included for the purchase. Do take note even though your husband is a foreigner, ABSD is not applicable as you're a Singaporean and the property is going to be your first matrimonial home.

Unfortunately no, foreigners cannot be owners of hdb flats, and since they can't be owners, their income cannot be factored into the loan application.

You may wish to consider private property on joint name ownership basis, his name and income can be included. Since this will be your first and only matrimonial property, you are potentially eligible for ABSD remission even though he is of foreigner status.

Unfortunately for HDB flat, since your husband can only be listed as the occupier, you husband would not be able to finance the flat using any loan. As this involves HDB policy of not allowing foreigner to be names as an owner, your plan might not work out. However things are different in private property where your husband will be allowed to be listed as an owner and thus will be able to finance the unit even with his overseas based income. Do note that since you have disposed of your previous HDB property, HDB will require you to place 50% cash proceeds from your previous HDB sales as a deposit if you bought a HDB resale even if your HDB loan is approved. This is different for bank loan where 5% cash deposit applies across the board. As trends show value for HDB is depreciating and the advantage of obtaining HDB loan for a second timer is no longer that attractive, you may want to consider purchasing a private property instead. Moreover as a married couple,, you are eligible for ABSD remission which means you will not be charge more for your purchase as compared to both SC couples. Good evening Mdm,

Sorry to inform you that HDB only recognise Singapore Citizen's income for loan assessment under non citizen spouse scheme.

Since you arent working now, you wont be able to obtain any loan.

This will be applicable in the case for bank loan.

By the way have you ever thought of going into the private segment?

Bank will be able to recognise his income and both of you wont be hit by ABSD as well cause IRAS will grant you remission as its your MATRIMONIAL home.
