It depends on your unit and location attributes, and also do you have plans to purchase another house as well? The timelines will need to be managed accordingly. As a rule of thumb, typical units take about 3 - 6 months to complete the whole process from marketing to completion, hence you might factor that into your planning. It may be shorter/longer depending on how your unit attributes such as location, unit size, facing, condition, balance lease and floor etc.

If it's just the consideration of the MOP period than it is in my opinion that you start marketing once you reach the MOP timeline.

However, have you consider whether you have a place to stay after you have sold you HDB flat?

If I can assume that you have to buy another place, have you considered the aspect of financing.

Probably it will be good to start marketing 1 to 2 months before your MOP date because if you start too early, you also cant ink the OTP as well.
