I am 31 year old Single. I recently applied for 4-room bto. I input both my parents as Occupiers. If I am successful in securing a flat, it will take 3 or 4 years.. by then i would be 35 years old. Am I eligible to take up hdb loan as a Single first timer by then? (I understand as I am currently under 35, I need to bring my parents in but that will make me as a second-timer.)

Hi,

Not quite sure your exact concern, but if its about the HDB loan count, then it will be counted as your 1st HDB loan when you take over the flat. You will still be able to take up another HDB loan later, as based on prevailing policy, each SC can take up to 2 concessionary HDB loans in 1 lifetime.

May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Warm Regards,

Hi,

I'm sorry, but the rules does not work this way.

By applying for a BTO, you will need to form a family nucleus to be eligible. If you were to put your parents as occupier, they must not have utilize their 2 chances for subsidized housing. This application will also be considered one of their chance.

Also, once you have applied under the Public Scheme, you cannot change into Single Scheme when the HDB is ready. Also, take note that Singles are not eligible to apply for new HDB 4 room flats.

May I understand further your needs and objectives, so that I can provide my best possible advice for you?

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Good morning,

Firstly, you need to understand that under BTO, single buyers can only purchase 2 room Flex unit from non-matured estate.
Secondly, you have registered your parent's name into the application. Hence HDB will process the intended purchase as such. Should your parents opt to withdraw from the application, HDB will deem that the application is void.
Lastly, in the event that you and your parents proceed with the purchase of the BTO, they will be required to sell off their existing residential property within 6 months from key collection.

    Thank you for the reply.

Currently I am staying in a hdb rental flat with both my parents (so they do not have flats/property of their own) If i am chosen for the bto selection, does that mean my application is considered a 2nd timer as i bring in my parents? (will i be able to utilize my status as a 1st timer application?) Do i need to pay levy?
