Husband bought house under single scheme.
We are considering to get a condo after mop.

1. However, as of now, should I be the occupier of the current house which is not under mop yet?
2. As of now, Can i buy an EC under my own name? Or buy private condo under my own name?

Good evening Miss,

I believe HDB will require you to be included in your hubby's unit. You might want to clarify with them.

If you are not required to be included into hubby's unit (Not tied down by MOP), you are eligible to purchase a resale EC or condo (new or resale) under your sole name with tax savings (not subject to ABSD).

If you wish to purchase a new EC, you have to wait till HDB fulfills MOP before you can apply with your hubby.

You will likely be required to be listed as an essential occupier of your hubby's HDB unit. If yes, then you will not be eligible to purchase any additional properties until the MOP is met. In the event that MOP is met, you will only be eligible to purchase resale EC or private condo under your own name. For brand new ECs, you will be required to purchase together with your hubby, and therefore the existing HDB needs to be sold.

If your name is not required by HDB to be listed as an essential occupier, then you will be eligible to look at private condo on your own name now.
