If you ask me, instead of looking out for undervalued properties, why not look for properties with higher potential upside?

Because sometimes when a property is undervalued, it is because of some underlying reasons, which is not known to many buyers. It could be undervalued at the point of purchase, but continue to remain undervalued for many decades after the Buyer had purchased.

There is no point in buying an undervalued property and continue not to make any money from it. It simply does not make sense, as when a Buyer looks to property investments, I believe the Buyer would expect to make money from it.
