Hi,

ABSD payable depends on the purchaser profile and property count at point of purchase. Assume you are SC and you have 2 residential properties on hand, the ABSD of 3rd property will be 10%. Yes you can purchase under a sole name but it may not be beneficial though.

Additional Buyer Stamp Duty (ABSD) will be levied at 10% of the purchased price for your 3rd property. This is on top of the slightly less than 3% normal stamp duty which is payable. You can either purchase it alone or with your spouse.

As both your properties are already paid up, you will be eligible to loan up to 80% loan for this 3rd property.
