Hi,.I'm a Singaporean, aged 46.I divorced my ex-wife in 2019.Till date,I still did not manage to sell my 4 room HDB flat as she find means and ways to refuse it.(E.g to clean the house which affect the sale of the flat, frequently change jobs,Covid).I have a son (aged 15) with my ex-wife.We both share custody of my son.I have a Court Order but there's no timeline on the sale of the flat.Around a year ago,I decided to engage a lawyer and a housing agent ,thru their recommendation.I have paid a total of $3K out of $5K (Balance of payment to be made upon the sale of flat). For your info, both my lawyer and the housing agent has not been transparent (reliable) enough.I wasn't updated regularly from time to time and often had to chase them for the latest update.I'm now married and blessed with a 3 months old baby girl.I'm really feel helpless right now.I had to live with my elderly mom and my younger brother in a 3 room flat.Appreciate your kind advice.

Hi,

I would be most glad to assist you further and please feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. Have a good day ahead. By the way, may I know what is the current status as for now with regards to the sale of your flat?

Hi,

Is your ex wife and son still staying in the 4-room flat? If so, have you tried to find out the reason why they do not want to sell? Perhaps they are concerned they don't have sufficient funds to purchase the next flat. Has your lawyer or agent tried to find out also? You will have to address your ex spouse concerns otherwise it will be status quo where they will impede the sale.

Hope the above clarifies. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so as to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Warm Regards,

Hi Sir,

I am sorry to hear about your situation. May I know if your ex is still staying in the flat? By right, you are supposed to sell off (or transfer out) the HDB flat within 6 months of Final Judgement.

If she doesn't have any intentions to sell the flat, perhaps you could discuss with her if she can buy over your share of the flat?

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen

Will she be able to buy over your share of the property? You may apply to court to compel your ex spouse to sell by the way. Read More
