Hi, would anyone help to comment on the following plan? I bought a new EC, and plan to decouple by end of MOP, both of us are SC. After decouple,
- Can the SC without any property buy a resale HDB under Non-Citizen Family Scheme with his/her parents (holding LTVP)?
- Will there be any additional tax/cost involved? Any resale levy? or will it be the same as buying the first property for the SC?
- If the above is possible, then after purchasing the resale HDB, will the status of LTVP still important? What if the LTVP is not renewed when expire?

Dear sir/madam,

Your plans will not be feasible based on existing regulations, as the married couple will be viewed as an entity, thus for HDB resale purchase, both husband and wife's name must be included in the purchase (regardless if both are as registered owners or 1 as essential occupier) regardless if the non-citizen parents are included in the purchase, therefore the EC must be disposed within 6 months of completing the HDB resale purchase.

Good evening,

you have to form a family nucleus in order to purchase a resale ec.

As both of you are married, even after decoupling, one of you are not eligible to purchase a resale HDB with a foreigner thus this plan wont work.

Perhaps you can share more with me so I will be in a better position to advise you further. Cheers!
