Dear Mr Wee,

This is the same case as my family.

As long the wife is married to a Singaporean and her PR status is renewed on the basis of her husband Singapore citizenship, there will be not any issue keeping the flat and renewing her PR as long she can show the death and marriage certificate of her husband.

Based on the estate law, your spouse will be the immediate inheritant for the HDB unit. However, things will be easier if a WILL have being drafted or you have your spouse added as co-owner.

Should there be a Will then it will go according to the order of it.

If indeed no Will then manner of holding will likely be to the wife and the children to be included as occupier of the flat in order to retain it.
