Hi, the timeline for the whole process usually depends on the demand for the unit, but in general 6months is enough for a sale of flat to be successfully done. You can keep in contact with an agent first, and engage his services when you are closer to key collection date( only if you are not using contra, if you are using contra you will have to sell the unit before you can collect the key).

By 2027, the market could be drastically different thus it will not be appropriate for us to give you the timeline for decision making.

As far as I am concern, if you are selling the property now, with right planning and positioning, the unit should sell in under 2 months unless location of the unit is not ideal. In fact I just sold a unit in under 1 month for a Simei HDB that I was marketing.

Typically 3 to 6 months before BTO key collection will be sufficient. Do you need your sale proceeds to come in first before you have funds to complete the purchase of the BTO as well as key collection?

It typically takes about 3 months to secure a buyer at a good price. For your case, I will usually advise my client to only list the HDB for sale close to the key collection date. This is so that my clients will be able to transit directly from their current HDB to the new flat without the need for an interim place and also have some buffer time for moving and renovation.
