Hi, What are the main differences between buying Executive Condo compared to buying a HDB? Lets just put aside facilities and monetary factor into consideration. What I'm trying to find out is the different policy governing different areas.

Hi Sham,

For ECs, they will be partially privatized after 5 years i.e. can be sold to SPRs fulfilling family nucleus condition, while after 10 years from TOP, it can be sold to anyone eligible to buy private property i.e. even foreigners or PR-foreigner couples. What this means is that you are going in at a 'restricted' price now to buy an EC, and then you will enjoy the eventual upside as privatization takes place.

On the other hand, HDB is the bread and butter for most Singaporeans and are subject to strict family nucleu / nationality rules before buyers are eligible to purchase.

There is a new EC launching in end-Sept in Punggol, within walking distance to the MRT station which I am marketing. Pls feel free to browse www.sgnortheast-newlaunch.com for more info and let me know if you would like to be updated on VVIP Preview or have other questions I can address.
