HI! we would like to sell our current 5 rm HDB and intend to buy a private property at either D16 or D17. As cash needed for purchases of new property will be mainly from selling off my existing HDB, my question are:

1) Will we get back all the cash on the excess from the sales consideration of current unit after repayment of CPF used and oustanding loan balance? Or it will go back to CPF?

2) Can both of the above transaction be arranged at the same time?

Hi Mrs Tan,

U will get the remaining CASH after paying off whatever you have utilised from the CPF with accrued interest and after repaying the outstanding HDB Loan.

For both transactions to be arranged together, you would be required to take a temporary bridging loan from the bank. Another possible problem u might face is the moving in into the private property and handling over your HDB keys. The time overlap got to be calculated very accurately. And depending on the location you would selling and buying, we need to look into whether to sell first or buy first, depending on market demand on their location
