Asked by
Hi we applied for my current HDB BTO without applying for both MCPS (Married Child Priority Scheme) & PPS (Parenthood Priority Scheme) as 1st timer previously. Only after moving in several years later, we then had our child.

Q1) So now we are trying to apply for a new BTO again, but we are unsure if we still considered as 1st or 2nd timer under this MCPS so I can live near my maternal’s house. Because I understand MCPS has a higher chance for 1st timer compared to 2nd timer, so based on my case I don’t know if we belong to 1st time or 2nd time applicants in this matter.

Q2) Does PPS (Parenthood Priority Scheme) has more weight or higher priority over MCPS?

Q3) During my application, I did not check the box for PPS selection but I happened to read the part if we have a child below 19yrs old, the system will automatically include in. Or do I have to actually check the box?

Q4) Also for PPS, its priority is given more to those married with a child or expecting a baby. So for my case again, am I considered as a 1st or 2nd timer then?

Thanks to advise & reply for my above 4 questions.

Hi,

You are considered as a second-timer, as you had already "enjoyed" your first time subsidized flat.

In case you do not know, second timer applicant has very slim chance of success to ballot for a BTO, due to the oversubscription rates for BTO flat across the board. Also, should you be successful in your ballot, you will also be required to pay a resale levy (in Cash) upon the sale of your current flat.

If you require parents support for your family, you may wish to consider resale flats instead. No resale levy is payable in this case, and you do not have to wait for 5-7 years for the flats to be ready.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen
