Hi there! My HLE has been approved but I have not found a house that I like. I'm looking for a resale 4-room HDB flat.

Now I'm resigning from my company to self-employed, will this affect my HDB loan as I heard HDB might ask for my latest 3 months pay slip during the 1st appointment.

Even though if I book for my 1st appointment with HDB by now, it will 3 months later, by the time I will not able to produce latest 3 months pay slip, will there any issue? My HLE approval valid till Feb 2017.

Hi Stephen,

It be best not to have any change in employment status, as you are correct in saying hdb will request you to produce latest 3 months pay slips & cpf contributions during 1st appointment. It will disrupt your financial plan and create more hassle.

Hi Stephen,

Since your HLE letter is valid till Feb 2017, my advise is that you secure a flat before then.

If you did not manage to secure a flat before Feb 2017, you will have to re-do a HLE assessment, which in turn will affect your loan.

Good morning Stephen,

it will best to purchase a resale HDB when you remain employed. If you have to reapply HLE as a self employed, you might not get the same loan amount as there's a hairline cut on the income earned by self employed.

Afternoon Stephen,

Being self-employed, you will need to produce at least 1 to 2 years worth of income documents for the financial institute to assess your credit standing. As of now, I would advice that you reapply for your HLE to understand your financial statnding.

Now is the buyer market, as long you willing to pay at median selling price. It almost impossible that you cannot find a HDB flat to your like within HLE valid date.
