I have mentioned that i will increase the rent after the 6 months contract . she said she cannot afford and wish to move out. Her contract ends in early June. But she is moving out by end of May 2023. Do i need to return back the security deposit then? she asked for the Security deposit if i will return or not? thanks for advise.

Hi,
By law, you need to return the security deposit when she completes the 6mth lease. If you do not agree to her leaving early, let her know that you will be deducting part of the amount for not fulfilling the lease agreements. This is within your discretion. So, discuss with her and come to a amicable arrangement.
Cheers!

Hi,

I would be most glad to assist you further and please feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. Have a good day ahead. By the way, if your tenant sign a 6 months room rental agreement, then she would have to stay thru it. Else, the landlord has the right to forfeit the deposit.
