Hi There,

I'm planning to get a 5-room resale HDB as a first-timer as I'll be getting married soon.

Having a dilemma should I consider a 20 - 30 years old HDB flat in a central location (i.e.Bishan) or recently MOP HDB flat.

Thank you for reading!

Dear sir/mdm,

The textbook answer to your question is "It Depends On Your Objective" or "There Is No Standard Answer".

I sat through with a client just last Saturday from 1030pm to 1am mapping out the differences via the different plans, and it boils down to 1 important thing, what are your priorities?

In the first place, how did you derive to these scenarios on a 20-30 years old resale HDB or a recently MOP HDB to decide about? I am sure there must be some concerns for both ways, and if we are able to address these concerns and come up with a balance approach if there is, I believe that will be the best situation for you, especially since you are planning to get married soon.

I have been in the real estate business since 2009, with more than 10years of experience serving the Singapore real estate market.

I am very active in the residential segment of Singapore real estate market, having transacted hundreds of deals from HDBs to private condominiums and landed properties in Singapore, and have handled many unique cases in sales and purchases as well as rental deals.

Over the years, I have also established a network reaching out to more than 9,400 expatriates, bringing my market presence to both in and outside of Singapore. This has created an additional exposure when I manage my client's portfolios, on top of the conventional on and offline platforms, where other estate agents are relying on. This has allowed me to consistently convert leads into results.

With an evolving market, where change is the only constant, I have also been investing in upgrading of my knowledge and skills sets to improve myself and meet the demands of current and future market.

I think it depends on various factors, which may include your place of work, parents place, place where you frequent etc.

Ultimately, only you will know which is the most suitable for you.

Hi Juzz,

Realistically, how much would you prepare and afford to put aside for the purchase of a HDB flat will determine the type of dwelling ie HDB 5rm and the locality you will be staying.

The next consideration will be your life-style eg will you have children in the next 5-10 years which may defines further the location as you may want to locate close to your in-laws or parent for support.

You may text 9620 0827  for a casual chat.

Warmest regards

Hi
There are various disadvantage in buying another unit and one of those is the decaying lease issue that might be a probelm if you intend to sell the house in the future. With recently introduced regulations in terms of CPF and loan restrictions on older flats, you might be facing a lesser pool of buyers when you want to sell your flat in the future However like other agent has pointed out, decisions are dependant on your personal circumstances and finances. Do contact me at 93375051  for a free and non obligatory discussion on this.
