Hi there,

I have an existing private property and wish to purchase a resale hdb flat. I understand that I will need to dispose of my private ppty within 6 months of obtaining the resale hdb flat. Can I transfer my private ppty as a way of dispose, to my family members or to my girlfriend (whom I will engage in 6 months later)?

In that case, which scheme will you be purchasing your resale HDB under?

Basing on your description, there should be no issue disposing your private property by means of transfer, providing that servicing the property loan is not an issue.

Morning,

As for your case, I would assume that you will be marrying your girlfriend soon and by transferring the unit now, you intend to purchase the HDB unit under single scheme.
The purchase of HDB under single scheme now is not an immediate issue, after the transfer. But after you married your current girlfriend, it might become an issue, depending on how things progress.
However, if you intend to purchase the HDB unit under family nucleus, then you need to rework or scrap the idea.
