Hi there. I am currently living in Sydney now. My parents have recently purchased an EC in Pasir Ris, my mother is planning to pay it off completely in March. We are only moving in Feb. I was hoping that we will be able to mortgage the new EC and buy another property in Sydney under my name. Is it possible? What are the limitations? Need some advice.

Morning,

New EC are governed under HDB ruling and even though the unit is fully paid, you cannot use the unit as collateral for funding to buy another property.
