If you are purchasing a resale HDB flat with HDB loan, yes, you may engage a HDB lawyer to do the conveyancing. If you are using bank loan, you will have to engage a private lawyer.

If you are taking a bank loan, you will have to engage a private solicitor to act for you in the conveyancing of the resale transaction.

You may engage HDB's solicitors if you are taking HDB loan or not taking any loan (i.e. ready funds in cash or CPF). Do note if you are using the returned funds from the sale of your current flat, you may prefer to engage a private solicitor instead depending on your timeline.

Hi,

1) Only when there is a Singapore Citizen in the application and must be a legal owner can apply for an HDB loan.
2) If there is only SPR in the application, you can only use a bank loan.
3) You can only use an HDB lawyer when using an HDB loan.
4) If using a bank loan, you can only use that Bank's appointed lawyer. Unless your lawyer is registered under that particular bank's board.
