All things being equal, normally one would buy a HDB flat being the cheaper option. But, life is not so simple. HDB comes with all sorts of restrictions and the capital appreciation is slower compared to condos because PRs and foreigners can buy condos and they tend to drive the prices up faster than HDB.

2) You have to work out your budget and space needed before moving on the wants.
