Hi, seeking for your advice as my enhance grant was rejected by Hdb again.

So Hdb requires us to submit our past 12 month transaction. So for my spouse transaction, I submitted the pay slip starting from the month states by Hdb happen to be the last month of working, and for this particular month, we exceed the income ceiling.

But the rest of the transaction clearly show we didn’t exceed the income ceiling for a past 11 month.

Hdb keeping mention about the we exceed our “monthly average income”???? And due to this they didn’t grant us the grant??? Is it even logical???

Shouldnt the monthly average income base in the 12 month transaction instead of only that one month?? How do they compute it??? Cos it don’t make any sense?!

I appeal but they fail me again.

Are there any advice can be given me to?
Thank you

Hi,

1) I can't help to change the HDB opinion.
2) From the bright side, meaning both of you are at the rim of high middle income that actually doesn't really need this grant to buy a flat.
3) Based on your income, you are actually capable to buy a private residence to grow part of your wealth via occupying a property.
4) I would suggest you seriously consider buying a private residence once you met your MOP 5 yrs later so that at least you don't have to depend solely on active working income and other financial investments which usually come with more risk than property investment.
5) The first private property you purchase can still with both of your names so that you could still stay in your HDB until it is ready to move in if you are buying a new launch. Claim your ABSD back after selling your HDB.
6) Do decoupling later and buy another to gain passive income via rental. Doing it this way will remove the hassle from shifting in and out, which will disrupt your life.
7) By the time you wish to retire just sell all of these away and downgrade back to HDB. You will find that you have a good amount of cash on hand for your retirement without much stress via this method.
