Hi Property Guru,

I’m a divorced PR with Singaporean children, and I’m in the process of purchasing an HDB resale flat as the sole owner, with my kids listed as occupiers. Since they are currently under 21, I can't add them as co-owners.

I’m concerned about what will happen to the flat if I pass away before they turn 21. Will my children still be able to live in the flat, and how can I ensure they won’t face any housing issues after I’m gone?

If your children are not yet 21, a custodian will manage the HDB until they turn 21. Best is of course to have a will to say it goes to them, but they will still inherit your house if you don't just a little more troublesome. Do not worry too much, hopefully these litle information helps.
