Currently rules in my view is to achive the government aims of sustaining the prices so much that bubbles wont form.

Corrections in prices is possible. Wait and see approach is more beneficial to buyer. For Seller, it depends on the type of property you own. Say it is for the mass market, then the prices may correct more than tht of the luxurious. Reason being the holding power of the D9/10/11 people are stronger and won't panick sell at low price.

Also the type of investor in SG compared to 1997 crisis has changed to include more nationalities. In my views unless there is double dip recession or another financial crisi. prices are not going to drop drastically. Prsently asia is still going strong and globally governments are doing their best to see the recovery of global economy therefore Correction till stablizie in my view may be the going trend for SG property.

We can see how the goverment is determined to do so since last year October where the first ruling came out to stablizie the market, next was recent feb 2010 and now August 2010. If still it doesnt cool or stablize, my views are more rules next year feb-march period.
