You can only sign on the OTP on 15 April, but the househunting process should more or less than 1-2 months hence the timeline will be just nice. Thanks and hope to assist with your purchase further.

You have ample time of about 1-2 months to proceed with looking for a suitable flat. This is not a problem. You may however make an offer, pay the desposit and proceed with the HDB paperwork from 15 April 2016 onwards only.

Sorry to inform you that you will only be able to sign the OTP on Apr 16th 2016. However, you can do the following preparation work before you start looking for a house:

1. Do an In Principal Approval (IPA) with a banker

2. Draft up a financial plan so that you can plan your finances better before committing to a unit.

3. Do some research on the price and transaction trend on the location you are looking to buy.

You may only sign the OTP on 15 April 2016.

Generally, the viewing for most people will take between 1-2 months. However the majority of the cases that I handled were with SPR/SPR, I am of the opinion that SPR/SPR tend to be more decisive which may perhaps be due to their experiences in looking at rented flat.

I had a couple who took 8 days to decide on a flat. I had another couple who took 18 days. Of course the longest is 33 days which was partly due to unavailability because of work.

The process of getting an In-principle-approval (IPA) on the loan quantum is quite immediate. It is necessary when you start the viewing.
