Hi, my wife and I are both SC, and our HDB flat is fully paid off. I understand that if we decouple the flat to avoid ABSD, she needs to pay back the amount of CPF I contributed to the flat. Is that correct?

My wife is a housewife with minimal CPF, so this is a critical issue for us. Is there a way to avoid this?

Afternoon,

Since your spouse is not working, decoupling and transferring the unit to her name is not feasible. She will need to be able to obtain mortgage loan to buy over your share of the unit.
