Hi, my partner is a singaporean PR with a property in malaysia and i am a singaporean citizen. May we know if we can apply for resale hdb? And is there any waiting time required or do he have to sell his property malaysia? Do clarify if i am wrong to apply for bto he will have to let go of his malaysia property and there will be a 30 months period before we can apply for bto.

You can buy a resale HDB anytime. However your partner has to sell his property in Malaysia.

Both of you are eligible to purchase a resale HDB anytime but your partner will be required to dispose off his ownership in the Malaysia property within 6 months of taking possession of your resale HDB. You are right on the 30 months period before you can apply for BTO after disposing the ownership of the Malaysia property.

Your spouse will have to dispose off his interest in his Malaysia property latest within 6 months upon your HDB flat purchase.

You are also not eligible to apply for a BTO flat as he currently owns a private property overseas.
