Hi,
My husband bought a HDB resale flat with his parents (3 co-owners) before we got married. Approximately he lived/occupied in the flat for like 6/7 years.
After we got married, we bought back the house (me and my husband are the owners) from his parents. Our MOP is not 5 years yet.
In this scenario, can we rent out the whole flat considering my husband's name was in the old contract and new contract for like 10 years?
Is there a chance that HDB will consider my husband's previous occupation with his parents as MOP?

You can log into MyHDB page using your Singpass to check if you are eligible to rent out the whole unit.

You can singpass login to myhdbpage, under Purchased Flat - Flat Details . It will reflect the owners, purchase price and flat details, and also whether you are eligible to rent out the whole unit (ie. Whether MOP met is indicated).

My understanding is that you and husband did not have to fulfill MOP rule since this only involves a name transfer (your husband's parent to you) and MOP is only counted at the point of purchase not at the point of transfer. However to confirm, you may login to MyHDB under 'purchased flat' to verify on record if your flat have met its's MOP. I am well versed in HDB transactions. From there, you could check if you would be eligible to rent out your HDB flat.

May I ask how are your subsequent plans if you are looking to rent out your current HDB Flat?
