Hi,

My fiance and his family, namely his sister and his mother, have a 4 room flat under the public scheme. They are financing the flat with a bank loan and did not use any grants from HDB. I plan to buy over his sister's and mother's share of the flat when the MOP is up and when we get married. Can this be done? Will there be any grant from HDB if two of us takes over the flat?

Good morning,

do approach HDB branch office for further clarification.

I dont forsee any issue for you to buy over future sister's and mother's in law's share as a married spouse. But not certain whether will you be eligible for HDB grants especially your fiance is already one of the owners.

Alternatively will be for your fiance to sell his share to his family members and both of you to buy another resale.

How long more do they have for the MOP to be fulfilled? All such part sales have to be approved by HDB therefore it will be good for you to check with HDB directly instead. Read More
