Hi Pearl,

Short term lease unit cannot be resold in the market, therefore the only way your father can purchase a short term lease arrangement is direct from HDB therefore we won't be able to opine on the price and budget.

He will need to fulfil the pre-requisites in order to be able to purchase a unit. If the 2-room Flexi flat is near the current home or married child, he can request for the Senior Priority Scheme (SPS). For 2-room flexi short lease flats you can only purchase direct from HDB and not from the resale market. There are also eligibility conditions to fulfill.

Hi Pearl,

1) Regret to inform you that short-lease HDB flats cannot be purchased from the open market.
2) The only short-lease HDB flat can only be bought from the HDB via BTO/SBF program.
3) Your dad will have to consider flats that offer in the Tengah estate for the budget he intends to spend on the flat.
