Hi,

1) The HDB flat legally belongs to you on completion day.
2) The extension period is special permission from the HDB so as to allow some sellers to temporarily continue staying for a short period before moving to their next accommodation.
3) Therefore it is up to you how you wanted the seller to hand over the flat to you.
4) Do speak to your seller on your arrangement to ensure that both parties are comfortable with the arrangement. Provide proof of identity or any paperwork for the seller to identify if necessary.
5) Otherwise you may also bring your representative along to pay the seller a visit so as to minimize any inconvenience caused during the handover.

Hope the above answer your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
