Hi,
Me and my wife are SPR and have a HDB. we have completed the MOP. I will be going overseas for couple of years on company work. Can I still hold on to the flat or do I need to sell it off as based on the latest policies, SPRs cannot rent out their flats.

Best Regards

Morning,

As you have completed MOP and being assigned overseas for work, we can write in to HDB and request for approval to rent out the unit. This would be based on 12 months to 18 months renewal basis.

Do contact me for further discussion.

Good morning HDB owner,

Great hearing from you!

You still able to hold on to your HDB while working overseas, just that you are not eligible to rent out your unit. If you will like to rent out your unit while working overseas, you have to appeal to your HDB branch office to allow you to do so.

Hope my explanation helps!

If you need any assistance or advice in your property rental, feel free to contact me. Cheers!

Hi,

Yes for SPR posted to work overseas, to sublet your unit, you have to write in to HDB for approval before you can look for any tenants. Hope you can have a successful application and I can assist further. Thanks.

SPR not entitled to rent out their HDB .

You can appeal , if unsuccessful , best is NOT rent out illegally cos you are on the HDB radar after you appeal .

When HDB repossess , the price will be unfavourable to the HDB owner .

You can keep your hdb as long as you maintain status quo SPR household .

You can consider selling your HDB if your appeal to rent out is unsuccessful as property prices is approx 5% short of all time historic high and prices might drop a few more % , however please note that there are ABSD additional buyer stamp duty if your family wish to buy back a HDB in future , unless rules change in your favour, or either you or your spouse become a singaporean therefore no ABSD for 1st property .

Kindly contact me for a no obligations chat for your property needs .

My charges are 1% comm for exclusive selling rights to your property .
