Hi,

If you are referring to HDB resale flat, you can use CPF OA direct to pay for the buyer stamp duty if there is sufficient CPF OA to cover both the stamp duty and downpayment.

Hi,

1) Yes, you are allowed to use funds in your CPF OA for the buyer stamp duty as long as it is sufficient to cover the BSD and down payment.
2) If you are applying for grants, the received grants can be used for the down payment as well.

3) The hearsay you heard about reimbursement is for those who are buying a private property. There are 2 types of situations that will create such situations:
(a) Buying a resale property. The timeline from exercising and the due date for BSD are too close that applying funds from the CPF cannot match the deadline of the BSD payment.
(b) Buying a new launch. The agent didn't advise the buyer clearly and didn't arrange in such a way for the law firm to put up an early request to utilize funds from the CPF board for the BSD payment.

4) This is uncommon for HDB flat purchases that you need to come out cash first for the buyer stamp duty. Both the HDB and private lawyer will apply to utilize funds from the CPF board for the buyer stamp duty on time.
