Hi, It is better to pay lump sum like $100 000 for private condo to clear part of the loan and loan the rest outstanding at 1.5% interest rate loan for 30 years or keep the $100 000 in CPF and earn 2.5% interest while paying my loan? Is it wise as CPF interest 2.6% is higher than 1.5% floating loan interest from DBS.

Nevertheless, different buyers will have different ideas about how to make use of their cash on hand to make the best returns, therefore if you have avenues of investment that allows you make better returns, you should perhaps sit down and look into it. Just a word of caution that all investments come with risk, which is 1 reason why some buyers do not have appetite to take up huge loans but prefer to pay up as much as possible.
