Hi, is it true that hdb imposed a new rule in 2012 that if u buy a hdb flat, you cannot own a private property at all after tat?

Evening Deborah,

I'm not sure where did you get that piece of news from but it's definitely untrue. After purchase of HDB unit, with or without grant, the MOP is 5 years. After which, you are eligible to purchase private property but you might need to set aside CPF minimum sum of $71k, if you have used CPF for your first mortgage loan and intend to use your balance for your second too.
