Hi,

Is it possible for me to apply for a second HDB loan for buying a second resale HDB before I dispose off my current HDB which have just fulfilled the MOP? Will HDB grant me such a loan? In any case, I will still have to dispose off my first HDB within 6 months after completion in buying of the second HDB.

    I understand under contra scheme, you have to have a ready buyer for your current unit, and that you also have a unit ready for you to buy. But my situation here is that I got a unit I wanted to buy and have not found a buyer for my current unit.

Good morning seller,

You are eligible to take up a HDB loan for your purchase. A household can apply for HDB loan twice.

Do take note that if you are taking HDB loan for your purchase, you must utilise at least 50% of your cash proceeds and all of your CPF OA funds from the sale.

Lastly you are right that you have to dispose off your current flat within 6 months from purchase completion.

For contra, you have to find a buyer for your current unit and a unit you wish to purchase in order to proceed. Alternatively, if the owner of the unit you wish to purchase is willing to wait for you to find a buyer, it will be feasible as well. However, the seller of the unit you wish to purchase must not be doing a contra as well.

You will be eligible for a 2nd HDB loan if you satisfy the HDB criteria. you may refer to this link for more info.
