Hi !
I'm looking to buy a HDB flat however I'm unsure of my eligibility to do so.

Here are the details :
- I'm Singaporean
- My husband is Australian (with no work visa / long term visa)
- We currently live in Australia
- I work in Australia, so my proof of income will be from the Taxation office in Australia

Can I purchase a HDB flat ? If yes, how do I go about doing it ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi Nura,

You are eligible to purchase a resale HDB flat under "Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme". You will be the sole owner of the flat, while your husband will be the "essential occupier:

And because you're the sole owner, only your income will be assessed for the loan.

Also, do take note that you will need to fulfill a 5-year MOP period before you can sell or rent out the whole flat.

May I know what's your reasons to purchase a HDB flat? Are you planning to relocate back to Singapore in the near term?

Should you need any further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you and your partner in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
